Who Can Benefit from School Support Services

We provide school support and educational advocacy services for students and families in Durham, the Triangle area, and across North Carolina, offering in-person and virtual guidance for IEPs, 504 plans, school accommodations, learning differences, and communication with schools.

School systems can feel complex and overwhelming—especially when a child’s needs don’t fit neatly into standard classroom expectations. At McKee Collaborative Therapy, our role is to help families and schools work together in ways that honor a child’s strengths, challenges, and learning profile. We support parents and caregivers in understanding their options, preparing for school meetings, and navigating educational systems with clarity and confidence.

Because our work is grounded in clinical and developmental understanding, we help translate assessment results, diagnoses, and behavioral observations into practical, meaningful supports within the school setting. Our goal is not to create conflict, but to foster collaboration—so students receive accommodations and services that genuinely support their learning, emotional well-being, and long-term growth.

Some families find that psychological testing can offer deeper insight into a child’s learning profile, while child and teen therapy can support emotional regulation, confidence, and coping alongside their school-based needs.
