When McKee Collaborative Therapy (MCT) first began, our work was rooted in supporting children and families. As a school psychologist by training, I saw firsthand how powerful it is when kids feel understood and supported—not just in academics, but in how they think, feel, and relate to others. Over time, in my work with incredible kids, families, and school teams, I was reminded again and again that this truth extends far beyond childhood. Growth, understanding, and connection are part of being human. We never stop learning. We never stop evolving.
Our Philosophy: Growth is a Lifelong Process
At the heart of MCT is the belief that growth doesn’t end in childhood; it’s an ongoing part of being human. Whether we’re five years old or fifty years old, we’re all navigating change, seeking balance, and trying to make sense of who we are and who we’re becoming.
This process of reflection—pausing to notice, make meaning, and reconnect with what matters—is something we all need at different points in life. It allows us to live more intentionally, deepen relationships, and grow into the most authentic versions of ourselves.
Our team embraces this philosophy both in our work and in our culture. We see development not as a temporary phase, but as a continuous process—one that deserves curiosity, compassion, and support at every stage of life.

Extending Care Across the Lifespan
My background in school psychology meant that my early focus was on children, particularly within their learning environments. But as I collaborated with parents, educators, and caregivers, I began to notice something familiar unfolding: parents gaining insight through their children’s progress, teachers reflecting on their own emotional patterns, and adults recognizing that the same tools they offered their kids could nurture their own well-being, too.
The decision to offer services across the lifespan wasn’t about expansion—it was about alignment. As my perspective deepened, I came to see that the same curiosity and compassion that guide a child’s growth also sustain us in adulthood. Recognizing that truth naturally shaped the vision for McKee Collaborative Therapy. We began building a space that could grow alongside those we serve—a place where development, healing, and connection are understood as lifelong processes. In many ways, MCT has evolved just as we all do: gradually, intentionally, and with a commitment to learning along the way.

Our Values in Practice
As the practice has evolved, our values have remained—and will always be—the compass guiding every step forward. Collaboration and inclusion call us to hold space for every story, honoring the experiences that shape identity and well-being. Connection keeps us grounded in the wholeness of each person, while intention ensures our work reflects the same care and mindfulness we hope to nurture in others. And humility keeps us open: listening, learning, and growing alongside those we serve.
These values shape our culture as much as they shape our care. They influence how we learn as a team, how we make decisions, and how we define success. They’re what led us to expand our work to serve people at every stage of life—and what continue to remind us that growth, in all its forms, is a shared journey.
Because at its heart, McKee Collaborative Therapy is—and always will be—about walking beside others as we learn, change, and grow together.
